INTRODUCTION



The aim of this blog is to introduce children to English and help them improve this language. Students will be able to increase their knowledge having fun with the activities proposed in the blog.

This blog is for children who are in the first and second year of elementary education because we think that these are the best ages to start learning a new language.

As future teachers, we believe that language learning should not be just through lectures but must be combined with oral activities, exercises, etc., which make lessons less boring and arouse children’ interest in the language.

Finally, we want to mention that this blog allows the introduction of the new technologies in teaching, which is very important because they increase students’ motivation.

Methodology

The blog contains some different activities related to the animal world. Students could use these activities as an English learning resource.

The activities proposed include reading and comprehension, listening and writing. They will help to improve English skills according to the following objectives:

Objectives

s  Learn the animals’ vocabulary in English.
s  Know and identify the different animals.
s  Work the concepts related to the animals’ world.
s  Increase English knowledge.
s  Promote cooperation with the group activities.
s  Develop reading and comprehension, writing, speaking and listening skills in English.
